Safeguarding
Our parish of Great Saughall: All Saints is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). Our Diocese of Chester’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the PSO Denise Harding or the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services.
“Promoting a Safer Church”
the House of Bishops’ Safeguarding Policy and Practice Guidance, sets out the policy of the Church of England on safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults.
“The Parish Safeguarding Handbook”
brings into one place the key safeguarding responsibilities for parishes that are outlined in “Promoting a Safer Church” the House of Bishops’ Safeguarding Policy and Practice Guidance.
“Promoting a Safer Environment and Activities” complements and expands upon information in the Parish Safeguarding Handbook. It is intended to act as a ‘How to…’ guide to help churches in their everyday ministry. It has been produced to give clear guidance to many of the questions that parishes most often ask about keeping people safe in church.
“Saughall All Saints, Taking Images: Statement of Practice” is a handy guide for anyone taking, storing and sharing images for Saughall All Saints Church. It summarises the principles outlined in ‘Promoting a Safer Environment and Activities’ and clarifies All Saint’s responsibilities under the General Data Protection Regulations
